Read John 10:2-4 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. — Isaiah 53:6 (KJV) Todays Devotional During the winter when I was eight years old, my brother, Christian, and I began a small escapade in the snowy forest behind our house. The snow was already high, and it was still snowing. Over bushes and under fallen limbs, my brother and I trudged — not realizing that our footsteps, which would help us find our way home, were being covered. In little less than an hour, we were lost; and all our efforts to find the main path were fruitless. As we began to feel afraid and alone, the cold started to nip at our faces, hands, and toes. Suddenly, we heard Dad’s calming voice, calling our names. Partly frightened, yet comforted at the same time, we found our way to his voice and were saved. My brother and I were like lost sheep looking for their shepherd. As we were saved from the cold by our father’s loud voice, we Christians are saved when we listen to our Lord Jesus calling to us. To my brother and me, Dad looked like our hero and our shepherd. He knew we were lost before we did. In the same way, Jesus comes to find us, ready to save and comfort us. Derrick A. Notz (Pennsylvania, USA) Thought for the Day: If we follow our Savior’s voice, he will lead us to the right path. Prayer: Dear Lord, our shepherd and savior, help us to hear and to follow your voice in all our endeavors so that we may never go astray. Amen. Prayer Focus: Those who are spiritually lost
