Read in the Your Comments section of the YEP tonight regarding the Allotment Victory - whilst I agree that other services may well be cut as a result of the appeal against the rise of allotment rents, allotments are definitely not in the domain of the retired, many of my friends have allotments, most of which are between 25 - 45! I also have friends who desperately want to have an allotment but are deemed too young in the eyes of their Local Allotment Association. Doesnt seem to fit with their demographic & quite ageist in their judgements. My daughters love helping their grandad at his allotment and would love to have their own one day but theyll just have buy a house with an astronomical garden & mortgage to boot! L xx
