Read media reports that the Indian Teams new ODI outfit has strands taken from the National flag and incorporated into the front of the outfit to give it a patriotic touch. Apparently Nike have taken out the strands from the Ashok Chakra on the National Flag and put them into the outfit. If this is true it essentially means that they have torn a National Flag to put pieces of it into the players outfits.(Or am I missing something here?). Am curious as to whether this does not amount to insulting the National Flag. Is a citizen allowed to tear the National flag and pin a few strands on his shirt? If that is not permitted,can we justify it in the name of patriotism as M.S.Dhoni has done saying it lends a patriotic touch to the outfit and adds to their motivation.Just asking.
