Read this from Joe Doerr (then watch the video. It is as freaky as the story). So I just came from Walgreens where I stood in line at the pharmacy behind an elderly couple wanting their flu shots. The pharmacist asked if they wanted the standard quadrivalent flu shot or the high-dose flu shot, which he explained was the recommended shot for seniors. Of course they said they wanted the high dose. He then told them that the reason he asked was because Walgreens had a limited supply of the quadrivalent shot (which he could have given them immediately) but that he was completely out of the high dose. They looked incredulous, and before they could say anything, the pharmacist told them that though Walgreens had ordered a huge supply of high-dose vaccine, the CDC had killed their order telling them that it wanted the high-dose shots to go elsewhere. When the elderly man asked, Elsewhere as in someplace other than Walgreens? The pharmacist answered Someplace other than Texas. Ebola in Dallas?
