Read two stories that made my heart ache. •A girl hung herself because her parents told her to stay away from Facebook. •Another girl asked her online friends for advice on what to do about a skin infection (eczema) that always made her feel inferior. Their advice was for her to take her life because no one likes her anyway. And guess what? She did. How sad! But then, I couldnt help but feel a slight stab of irritation. Forgive my seeming callousness but first thing I thought was: How can people let social networks be a large part of their lives? Or for some, their whole life? A girl meets a stranger ON FACEBOOK, falls in love with whoever he claims to be ON FACEBOOK, starts a relationship ON FACEBOOK, flaunts that relationship ON FACEBOOK, gets her heart broken ON FACEBOOK, then she starts blaming the world for an experience she had ON FACEBOOK.. HELLO?? Whatever happened to the real world? Who lives there? Social networks were originally created for FUN. Any other benefit - whether negative or positive, you derive from them depends on YOU. For Gods sake, DO NOT let a bunch of strangers define your life or mess you up. Have you no personality of your own?? Yeah, some people are possessed & out to ruin lives. Can you really blame them? If youre so rattled by social network bullies, what would you do when you face the real demons? If anyone thinks that because Im here a lot, Ive got a care, lemme correct that. I come on here to ease boredom, recieve & give motivation, get information & have fun with my friends. After that, Ive got a life to live. Facebook & its theatric strangers retreat to my unconscious.. Please people, Be Wise!
