Reader Question: What does a wife do when her husband and immediate family are not on the same page about a lot of things when it comes to raising children.... I really dont have a lot of family around and our kids love going to visit them and go for sleepovers. Im usually willing to let them go because they have a great time and I can get a little break. My husband is hesitant because he doesnt like that they let the kids watch TV. We dont have one and he doesnt like giving the kids mixed messages about it. They dont give them obscene amounts of time on it and its stuff like Arthur and Franklin which is pretty tame but he feels that those things will change as they get older and wonders where the line will be drawn. Anyway, its really frustrating for me because I feel that he wants me to talk to my family and tell them no, and I really dont want to drive a wedge between us. I love them dearly and they help us out a lot with babysitting etc. etc. Im frustrated to no end. I just feel like he wants me to do something that he wont do.... but he feels that I should be able to talk to my family. Ill feel so bad if he stops letting them go because of a silly TV. He has mentioned to them how he felt before and he feels that they are disrespecting his wishes by giving it to them anyway. The kids probably ask .... Any words of advice??? ~Stuck in the Middle
