Reading Anishs poetry.. Last week in Delhi we had a wonderful reading, almost all night . He read number of new poems written in last one year. And while leaving gave me his book. A poet when gifts a poetry to another friend , a poet himself is a great gesture. Giving book itself is most civilised gesture.. However in last few years as the corporatization has eclipsed our life, the gifts are changed.. They come on you like a bomb.. Gifting, giving, subtly suggesting, communicating and beginning a new dialogue through books is important. More important in the Modi age ahead, when corporates will have full controls in their hands. I read this morning that on advertisement alone this man ( monster ?) calked modi has spent 4500cr.. We have bad times ahead. Poetry is only relief ... And here in Anish works I see a delicate connection with Kabir too....
