Reading James Taylor, Long Ago and Far Away. In addition to a couple mentions of my pal Bobs old band, the Charles River Valley Boys, I come upon a name check of another friend, Chris Darrow. Arrayed in concentric circles around this trio for various songs was a gathering of astute instrumentalists. Pedal steel ace Red Rhodes, who appeared with the Byrds on Goin Back, supplied all the sinous sighs and whines on the songs, commencing with opening cut Sweet Baby James, while Chris Darrow did the nimble fiddling. Bass was contributed at one juncture or another by Pocos Randy Meisner, with assistance from Robby West and Jack London.
