Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has told FIFA president Sepp Blatter to shut up and insisted there is ‘no doubt’ that Cristiano Ronaldo deserves the Ballon d’Or this year. Blatter had backed Germany goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, to beat Ronaldo to the prestigious individual award but Ancelotti made his opinion of Blatter’s sentiments quite clear. “It always surprises me what he does, but what can we do. It’s impossible to shut the mouth of the FIFA president,” the Italian said. “It is a subject that he always speaks about. There is not much to think about. “It is Cristiano’s year, he has been scoring goals and winning important titles, and there is no doubt that the Ballon d’Or is his. Therefore those words do not make much sense.” Read: Mourinho & Guardiola On Shortlist For FIFA Coach Of The Year Ancelotti also admitted he would like to win the award for the coach of the year, but joked he already secured a bigger trophy. “I would like to win it, of course, but I have already secured the biggest prize, the Champions League. That is in my house and in the Bernabéu,” he added. “If I win I will have to extend my cabinet.” Ronaldo is the clear favorite to win his third Ballon d’Or, while a few experts like UEFA president, Michel Platini, suggest that a German World Cup winner should win the award.
