Reality bites! Met with our payroll vendor, ADP, today to discuss how we can implement the Affordable Healthcare Act. Yikes! The impact wielded by the mandate will have a devastating affect on our small business. No, Virginia, just because you like your insurance does not mean you can keep it. Oh... and you have to pass it before your know whats in it. Well... I know whats in it now. I cannot keep my current insurance unless I provide the same for all 54 employees. Lets do the math. $865/mo x 12 mos = $10,380 x 54 employees = $560,520.00. Thats more than this business makes! Yes. Its the law. Never mind Im 62 yr old cancer survivor and many employees are 25 - 30 and not full time.
