Really? Chicken Shit!? If you dont like my stories, just scroll on by... But, you may want to read the link below if you are not aware what is occurring in the cattle industry. Because we have had a lot of post today about our unhealthy food sources and this topic really is a big deal and factual concerning what is being allowed for us to ingest. I have shared my Chicken Shit story before, but am going to share it again because it is relevant to our harmful food topics today... It is funny how we all come across information sometime just in our daily lives. I live in central Alabama and worked previously as my countys Veterans Service Officer. One day a veteran came in, and one of the questions on his claim ask for his previous employment. Now I know I could be saying chicken poop or feces, but this is how he described his last employment to be that of selling chicken shit. So initially I wasnt quite sure did he mean that literally? And, yes, he did, and he wanted to explain how that job was snuffed out by some college kid at Auburn University that decided to do his thesis on chicken shit. Now I promptly told him I had a lot of respect for this University as I have a nephew who has a Masters in Engineering from Auburn. Well, he acknowledged it is indeed a fine Engineering school but it was their school of Horticulture that has changed the use of chicken shit in the beef producing industry. So okay, he explains that he would go to the chicken farms and buy the chicken droppings that fell from their crates where the chickens were and filled these large barrel containers with it to make a compost. He would then take it to the Cattle Farms, who then put it out in the pastures to grow wonderful rich grass for the cattle to graze on because it was rich in nitrogen. Ahhh, well I didnt know. But then, according to him, this college kid down at Auburn got to making a poultry compost of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium in these silos that could by-pass growing the grass and instead mix it straight into the hay and feed the cows were eating and make them fatter than a butter ball. What? Yep! Instead of letting them go graze on nitrogen filled grass, they would keep them in smaller areas and just mix that chicken shit compost right into their feed. Oh wow, how sad for the cows no longer getting to graze, I thought. Well, yeah, and that was the end of him selling the cattle farmers barrels of chicken shit for their pastures, cause this college kids silo compost eliminated having to fertilize their pastures. Then he began to explain how Walmart owns their own cattle farms and the parts of the cows...intestines, stomachs, bladders, etc., that use to be removed before making hamburger meat is now all just grind together. Oh heck no, really? Yep, and the reason these organs had been removed before was because of the bacteria in these organs, but Walmart doesnt remove them, according to him. Hmmm, no wonder their hamburger meat smells so rotten! Okay, is this all legal? If youre interested, this is the best info I could find on it from 2009. But, I currently live near a cattle farm, and the entire town smells terrible during the summer when these poultry compost silos are cooking up this mixture for their cattle.... https://thebovine.wordpress/2009/06/01/u-s-cattle-being-fed-chicken-manure/
