Really enjoying a Thomas Harris movie marathon, having watched Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, both of which I consider near perfect films. I so hate that Jodi Foster did not return to reprise her roll as Clarice Starling, but I think Julianne Moore did a wonderful job. She certainly looked the part of an older, more mature Clarice, but my only real criticism is that she didnt actually sound like she was from Appalachia, which in my opinion is what gave Fosters performance such powerful authenticity. Story-wise, from a character stand point, I guess that it makes sense though -Starling has had a decade or so to get rid of that accent youve tried so desperately to shed: Pure West Virginia as Dr. Lecter so deftly points out in the first film. I know personally all to well how that goes after all lol, a big reason why Clarice is one of my all time favorite literary heroines. Now on to Red Dragon and Hannibal Rising . Ive got to check out this new Hannibal TV series Ive even hearing so much about too. Anybody else as obsessed with Harriss work as I am ?
