Really hate the thought that I will never go back into San Francisco. Came the first time in Sept of 1966 on my way to Tecumseh in Hawaii. Was smitten with the City from that day on......how could you not be when you drove by the club featuring Carol Doda ( look her up ).....lines around the block past the Hungry I.....fog, Chinatown....later hippies , flower children, free love and the 60s to the max.Later it became interesting hotels and restaurants, art, architecture and style. I became repulsed by the politics and the hatred of the military so I stopped going for a few years. Our friends drove us over Sunday mostly so Charlotte could see it. We were shocked by the over building and the absolute crush of people.......who are not reluctant to stroll in front of your car as you navigate the congested hilly streets. Progress I guess.....but San Francisco will be missed.
