Really heartened by the response to my party leader Mike Nesbitts consultation on libel reform. The Defamation Act liberalised GBs libel laws to protect free speech. The DUP blocked similar legislation here in Northern Ireland. This threatens media jobs in NI as UK wide media companies may withdraw from Northern Ireland as they cannot operate under two legal regimes. Reform will protect jobs and freedom of speech. Libel reform. Brought to you by the unionist party who dont threaten proceedings when criticised.
