Really proud of todays event with Baylor College of Medicine and Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Baylor-St. Luke’s leaders pursue Latino business Posted on January 23, 2014 | By Lora Hines Leaders of Baylor College of Medicine and Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center said Thursday they want to be the health care provider for Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce members. College of medicine president and chief executive officer Dr. Paul Klotman and Baylor St. Luke’s president Wayne Keathley made their pitch at a chamber breakfast. “We want to be your preferred provider,” said Klotman, adding that Baylor-St. Luke’s wants to be the place where chamber members send their employees for health education, treatment and wellness programs. He and Keathley said they want to improve health care access, especially for those with cultural and language barriers that prevent them from getting medical care. They said they want chamber members to help them eliminate limitations and tell them how to improve their employees’ care. Earlier this month, Catholic Health Initiatives, St. Luke’s new owner, announced a new partnership with Baylor. The institutions will jointly own and operate a hospital.
