Rear Windows - Part I - Wakey Wakey What makes Windows so excruciatingly STUPID?! Im not talking early Windows, Im talking 8.1 here. Cant Microsoft design anything that doesnt cause the average person to scream in anguish?! Ok, so my son has a new Dell. Microsoft deemed it necessary to set the default to bring his machine out of sleep to do some updates at 3am. The monitor wakes him up. So, what does he do? He presses the Power button. Ok, not the right thing to do, but how many other normal folk out there wouldnt do the same thing? The computer is hosed. Back to BestBuy for a Geek Squad reinstall. 24 hours later, its back, and we are starting over. After an hour of searching I was able to disable wake to update. I swore never to bring a PC in my house again. But, unfortunately, there are realities I must deal with.
