Reasons Why WAEC Withheld 2014 Results I have come across several hundreds of comments and forum posts where candidates who sat for the just concluded 2014 waec examination are asking why their results were withheld. According to the official board, which is the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has clarified that the withheld WAEC 2014 results was due to examination malpractices in centres, contrary to speculations that it does so to witch-hunt candidates who performs excellently in their exams. This information was made known by the Zonal Coordinator of WAEC in charge of Lagos state and Ogun state, Mrs. C.O. Agwu who disclosed to the public, that the results of candidates who scored zero are cancelled if there is any indicting report about the centre. According to her “It is not about the score, it is about having reports of malpractices at any of our centres”. Mrs. Agwu also went on to advised students to pay adequate attention to instructions, saying that candidates lose marks when they don’t pay adequate attention to instructions which are given to them. Also speaking on the issue of leakage of examination questions, Mrs. Agwu said it was due to loopholes from various malpractice agents and examiners.
