Reavis Scherman, 86 of McAlester, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa. A private family funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Steve Lane officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Reavis was born on April 9, 1927 in McAlester to Shorty & Nessie Westlake Price. She attended Savanna schools and graduated Savanna High School. She married Harold Scherman on May 26, 1945 in McAlester. Throughout her life she worked for Emerson School in McAlester, Sears, and for Anchor Finance. Reavis was a member of the Barnett Memorial Methodist Church of McAlester. She enjoyed her grandchildren and loved growing flowers. Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law: Harold Eugene & Glenda Scherman of McAlester, Donald T. & Carolyn Scherman of Crowder; daughter & son-in-law: Debbie Marie & Hal Dalton of McAlester; grandchildren & spouses: Kimberly Anne Boling, Gregory Eugene & Dana Scherman, Bradley Jewell, Vicki & Noble Hamilton, Don Ray & Regina Scherman, Melissa Hamilton, Cody Scherman, Cheyenne Scherman, Kendall & LaGina Carano, Gina Carano, Julie & Brandon Hokit; 24 great- grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; special friends: Kippie Grand of Ada, and Douglas J. Lane of McAlester; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Harold Scherman on February 18, 2008; a son: Freddie Dale Scherman; a grandson: Jeffery Scott Scherman; and a brother: Theo Price. Active pallbearers will be Cody Scherman, Cheyenne Scherman, Donny Ray Scherman, Greg Scherman, Mark Scherman, Kyle Scherman, and Bo Hamilton.
