Rec Center closed; severe weather damages roof, no injuries reported The Town Rec Center will be closed tonight after severe weather rips a section of metal sheeting off the roof. Castle Rock Fire and Rescue and Castle Rock Police responded to a call at 4:30 p.m. today. A micro burst hit the area and caused significant damage to the Rec Center roof. The metal sheeting was ripped off, but the decking underneath remains intact. The center was busy with afternoon patrons but no one was injured. Fire personnel have declared the building structurally sound, but the facility will remain closed tonight. It will be open for normal businesses hours, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., tomorrow. Gym and pool areas may remain closed for repairs. If you have any questions tomorrow regarding available services, contact the front desk at 303-660-1036.
