Recent Faculty Achievements: Nursing: Judith Cullinane, associate professor of practice in nursing in the Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program, was the co-author of a summary article published in the July/August, 2013 issue of the Journal of Burn Care and Research. For more information please click on the following link: journals.lww/burncareresearch/Fulltext/2013/07000/Summary_of_the_2012_ABA_Burn_Quality_Consensus.1.aspx LaDonna Christian, associate professor of practice in nursing and director of the Dotson Bridge and Mentoring Program, has co-authored a chapter on “Culture Diversity in the Classroom,” in the sixth edition of Innovative Teaching Strategies in Nursing and Related Health Professions, edited by Arlene Lowenstein, professor of practice in nursing, and Martha Bradshaw. Julie Vosit-Steller, associate professor of practice and director of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Online Program, [email protected], presented “Relentless Hope: When a Family Cannot Let Go of a Actively Dying Loved One,” at Brigham & Womans Hospital, Schwartz Rounds, in October. Marla Lynch, associate professor practice in nursing, spoke at the Massachusetts state-level National Association for Mental Illness conference in October in Randolph, MA. Her topic was “Healthy Tips for Caregivers,” in particular, elevating the role of spirituality in the recovery process. Participants included professional caregivers and families who are caregivers. Physical Therapy: Amitabh Dashottar, assistant professor of physical therapy and colleagues presented a poster entitled “Developing an elastography scanning protocol for the glenohumeral joint,” at the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography national meeting in Las Vegas, NV, in October. James Huddleston, associate professor of practice in physical therapy, was a guest faculty at a Harvard Medical School Continuing Education conference, sponsored by the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at MGH, in September. Dr. Huddleston presented a lecture and led a discussion on Increasing Appeal and Decreasing Barriers to a Physically Active Lifestyle.
