Recent figures suggest there are approximately 750,000 truck drivers across the UK, with applications for driver CPC increasing. The market is relatively underutilized, with very few high quality facilities available. Drivers are unable to reach standard gym and spa facilities due to height restrictions in car parks and lack of accessibility. This is combined with the current facilities at service stations having low standards of hygiene and facilities. A recent project initiated by the European Commission, SETPOS, also highlights concerns for safety of drivers and the need to create a number of secured truck parking areas in the trans-border regions. The market has extremely high potential and this combined with the CO2 reduction capabilities of this project, it is a sure winner in our eyes.
