Recently, I have been hearing talk about the sale of the former MoDOT District 2 facility in Macon by Macon County to Onshore, with varying dollar figures and information being shared by those talking about it. To help get the correct information out there, the following is directly taken from the Macon County website (maconcountymo/news-releases.html) September 25, 2014 - The County of Macon and Onshore Outsourcing reached a tentative agreement for the purchase of the former MoDOT Complex located at 902 N Missouri. The Complex consists of three buildings on 5.5 acres of land and was recently appraised for $2 Million Dollars. The sale price of $1.7 Million Dollars is to be spread out over the next seventeen years with annual payments being made to the County of Macon. The County granted a property tax abatement for a period of seven years on the Complex. Additionally, the County will retain the use of the former MoDOT Maintenance Building for up to two years during the construction of the Courthouse/Jail Project.
