Recently I spoke to Broker Joe Villaescusa, owner of C-21 All Stars in Pico Rivera. The one thing that he and Neil Schwartz have in common is their simplistic way they go about their real estate business. Joe beat out longtime friend and friendly rival Neil, as the #1 office in the World for the C-21 system in homes sold for 2012. (Disclosure: I do not have any business ties to either one of them. I have spoken and trained Neil’s agents under USA HELP in 2010) Both men are insistent that their agents only join them if they are willing to work hard. Joe spoke with pride as he told me stories of young men who for one reason or another discovered that college was not an option for them. He spoke of one recently who came to him eager to live a different life, wearing only a clip on tie and pleaded; “Tell me what to do and I will do it.” Less than a year later, due to proper training and hard, consistent work, the young man was driving a new car, renting his own place and well on his way. Changing lives for the salespeople and the client is what it is all about. There are no short cuts. If you are not living the life you desire and you’re in sales, prospecting, five days a week for three to four hours each day and refining your skillset as you go, is the quickest and most consistent way to become an overnight success and be considered “lucky” by your peers. *Tip: Set up a customer retention program so you “retain what you obtain”. This is how the top 1% stay on top. It need not be fancy or complicated. Most will not use but 10% of the average CRM they buy. Just be consistent with your communication.* I teach that we subconsciously, self-sabotage our careers due to a lack of self-worth. On the outside, we project a strong image as a survival mechanism, but on the inside, we question the service that we’re providing. This is a good thing actually, as it demonstrates a depth of character many do not possess. You’re the type that needs to know that you are delivering true value, or you’ll find ‘busy’ work which derails the time you set aside for prospecting. This is why I teach my “Serve for Success” model. The first sentence in Pastor Rick Warren’s book; “A Purpose Driven Life” reads; “It’s not about you”. You were created by God, for God. He wants your love and you to love your brother and sister in Christ above all. If you’re honest, ethical and passionate about the above statement, than you are worthy of obtaining all who wish to buy and sell today. You may not have the answers, but you know where to obtain them. In fact, I would argue that you have a moral obligation to get off your backside today, get out there and knock on doors! Let people know about the services you offer, for if you don’t, someone else will. And, you and I do not know if they will care for this individual with the same level of loving passion as you. Now get out there and Serve for Success. You’re the answer to someone’s prayers last night and God wanted you to read this post as much as he put it on my heart to write it.
