Recently there is an experiment dealing with phytoplankton - TopicsExpress

Recently there is an experiment dealing with phytoplankton (microalgae) in which the results failed to support one of the Darwins hypotheses, namely, closely related organisms will compete for same niche which leading to struggle for existence (or C-R hypothesis). However, the study (conducted by Dr. Bradley Cardinale from University of Michigan, USA) was actually did not set out to disproves Darwins evolutionary theory, but rather shed new light on it, by discovering there are more sophisticated mechanism that responsible for the diversity of life on Earth. *In this case, the experimental microalgae may showing a co-evolution event as suggested by Dr. B. Cardinale* Creationists misunderstood the meaning of theory in scientific world. A scientific theory summarizes a hypothesis or group of hypotheses that have been supported with repeated testing. If enough evidence accumulates to support a hypothesis, it moves to the next step—known as a theory—in the scientific method and becomes accepted as a valid explanation of a phenomenon. Darwins evolutionary theory is in this category. If you want to disproves (although unlikely), check this out. But I warn anyone reading this, ALERT ! SCIENCE AHEAD ! whyevolutionistrue.wordpress/2012/07/09/what-would-disprove-evolution/
