Record of the day Wednesday Jan 7 - Susannah McCorkle - Waters of March - I first heard this about 14 or 15 years ago on the local public radios jazz show, while driving home from a very late work night. It seemed the perfect soundtrack for the desolate 3:00AM highway, and suited my physical and mental exhaustion to a tee. Much to my dismay, the DJ did not bother to tell me what it was or who it was by. The next day I searched the internet, using the few snippets of lyrics I could recall, but to no avail - this was 2000 or 2001, remember. Fast forward to last week. I was listening to Art Garfunkels Breakaway album, when all of a sudden I heard those perfect lyrics. The mystery had finally been solved. A couple of quick Google searches later, I discovered the version I had originally heard was by the late Ms McCorkle. Now the song that has haunted me for a decade and a half has a name.... youtu.be/6MNknFy2gdQ
