Refer to the video below: For hundreds of years mathematicians have been conjectured that there are infinitely many twin primes.In 1849 Alphonse De Polignac to conjectured there should be infinitely many primes with any finite gap, not just 2. Yitang Zhang has proved that there are infinitely many consecutive primes with a gap N such that N is less than 70 million. Zhang result builds on paper by Goldston, Pintz and Yiltrim which came within a hair s breadth of showing that there are infinitely many pairs of primes with a finite gap.Yitang received Ph.D from Purdue university. He was unable to get an academic job and worked as Subway outlet until he was taken as a lecturer in University of New Hampshire. His Paper was accepted by the journal Annals of Mathematics in record time of 3 weeks and will be published in its forthcoming issue.
