Referendum post! So its been an interesting few weeks! So much has been said, so many people have been so opinionated in one way or another, from the relatively benign to the outwardly confrontational. I have voted already, I was certain which way I would vote a long time ago, and nothing that has been said since then has made me doubt that. I considered my hopes AND fears, and voted accordingly. I have read a lot and listened a lot, and it seems that the closer we get to tomorrow, the less genuine either campaign seems to sound, and the more desperate they get. If you havent decided yet, please take the time to read as much impartial information as you can and be as informed as you can be before voting. Im not encouraging anyone to vote no or yes at this stage, I just want you to be sure about the future your vote will count towards. Ive been to a few places in the world that I consider to be pretty spectacular, but every time I come home, I realise that this IS the best place in the world, and thats why I stay here, in Scotland, in Argyll. Im proud to be Scottish, and I love it the way it is. When Im abroad, the vast majority of people seem to like me simply because Im Scottish. Thats quite impressive. And as the nation we are, we seem to have respect. I like that. We are a friendly nation, smiley happy people together. After tomorrow, regardless of how Ive voted, my biggest hope is that we can continue as a nation together. Whatever the outcome, I have decided to be utterly committed to the future of Scotland, and will not judge anyone on how theyve voted. In our democratic Scotland, everyone has the right to their opinion and, as such, we are allowed to have this referendum. My friends are my friends, and whether we agree on this subject or not, theyll still be my friends. So I guess what Im asking is that, after tomorrow, whatever happens, we can avoid a national divide, and not let the outcome its-self be a stake in the heart of our already great nation. There is no doubt it will go one way or the other, even by one vote if it comes to it. And it seems to be so close it could go either way. As this is a once-in-a-lifetime vote, we ALL have to deal with the outcome, and with it being so close, there will be a LOT of people feeling that they didnt get the outcome they wanted. It might be me, it might not, but I really hope that after it all that I still feel 100% part of our nation, not 48%, or 52%!! This is not an invitation for ANYONE to post propaganda from either camp, so please dont! I really hope you all have the same feeling of pride to be able to accept the outcome, whatever it is, and continue as our great nation together from Friday onwards!
