Reflecting on 2014 and I would have to say it was probably one of the most rewarding yet challenging years for our family. In April, we took 14 teens to Youth Conference down in SoCal. It was an incredible time. We came back and shortly after, our pastor met with us about taking a bigger opportunity in childrens ministry and overseeing it entirely. This was one of the hardest decisions our family has had to make in the ministry because in doing so, we would have to step out of the youth ministry. In the ten years we have been in the ministry, ministering to teens is all we have known. We love the teens of our church so greatly, but we knew this was Gods plan and we took a step of faith and followed. Honestly, I cannot praise The Lord for how He has blessed our childrens ministry this year, specifically our Awana ministry. Children have gotten saved and are actively growing in The Lord. I have seen so much growth out of our workers. In July, my wife and I took a road trip from Reno to Boston just to see the Boston Redsox play at Fenway. We did this trip in the course of ten days lol. Along the way of sleeping in the car at truck stops, we enjoyed seeing good friends and making new ones. But God also spoke to us during our trip. He revealed to us that His plan for our family is more vast and wide than the open spaces we were traveling through. He solidified many things in our lives. That trip HAD to be taken, and we were blessed on so many levels...even though the sox lost ;) in November, our family said goodbye to a dear family member that we didnt know much about, my Grandma Beverly Traynor. But through pictures and stories we learned this woman was a special person, and that she loved our family very much. She left us her beautiful home. A home that our family can grow in. I learned how influential my ancestors were in the early days of Nevadas statehood. Also in July, my wife and I celebrated 10 years of marriage. I love my babe so much with every passing year. God has been so good to our family personally, spiritually, and He has been gracious to allow us to do His work one more year. This coming year will bring new challenges and opportunities for our family and we are excited for what is ahead. Excited to discover Gods direction for our family in 2015!
