Reflections on the last evening in camp... I recall the limitless outstanding moments of the 2014 season from the quiet of the Lodge deck. Its emotional to let go of the north yet again just as it is from the south each spring. This surpasses a job, a career and even a life style, its an inner pulse that binds one completely to the serenity of raw wilderness, its the freshness of the north, its the sound of the ever traveling water and the loons and eagles, its the gift of a wolfs song in the dark of the night, its the mystical northern lights and a million brilliant stars, its the smells and colors and the textures. This evening the only sounds are gentle rustling of leaves as the breeze combs through. This evening there is no one but us and the humbling teaches. This season float planes of various sizes from Cessnas to Twin Otters brought anglers from across the globe to experience angling at its finest, to relax and visit and play in the rarity of a playground far from routine, stresses and busy lives. They are our friends, some we had never met prior and some we have known for many years but each boarded their flights as friends and that is our gift from them. They take with a time of peace and play and each will recall the big ones that were brought in and the bigger ones that got away. Its a rare opportunity to share this many incredible times with so many amazing people every season. Each persons story is uniquely interesting and I am grateful to host such adventurous, dignified and interesting people. Boats dock and clients shine with huge smiles and great stories of their day and they appreciate every second of this paradise. So do I. To each of our clients I would like to Thank You for our opportunity to share your time. You are remembered often in conversations and kind thoughts. All the memories that you pack up with you when you leave we thank you for sharing those with us as well. On behalf of my husband Bart, myself, the owners, the guides and Pine Island Resort I would like to express our sincerest appreciation to every one of you.
