Regarding medical cannabis: Sativex spray is already available - TopicsExpress

Regarding medical cannabis: Sativex spray is already available in Australia, its already registered with the TGA, its in schedule 8, and clinical professionals already have access to it either to prescribe it or to research potential usefulness for a broader range of indications. So, whats the problem? What is any other legislation or reform needed for, and what is it aiming to achieve? Is there any credible evidence that unprocessed plant cannabis has useful medical value *different* from that provided by a standardized, processed, consistent extract like Sativex? There would have to be some real chemical, pharmacological evidence to justify that. Its not like nobody has ever analysed and published the chemical content of cannabis plants before, its pretty well studied. So if there is some medically important chemical missing from the existing standardized medical cannabinoid products, which one is it?
