Regarding the new road markings at Union Lane. There has been several queries as to why they have been put where they are & not outside the school. The Parish council emailed the Traffic Management Team Leader, Highways and Transport, Cumbria County Council and passed on the queries. This is the response that was received back. The lady who has been dealing with this scheme is currently on leave and will be able to provide more information when she is back next week. My understanding is the zig-zags have been located in the proposed crossing location for the new lolly-pop patrol, the zig-zags are there to reinforce the need for this area to kept free of parked vehicles to ensure the crossing attendant as unrestricted visibility of approaching traffic.
