Regarding todays announcement by the president: I am glad the Cuban government may lose the one pitiful excuse it uses to defend socialisms dreadful record...the embargo. Im amazed our president actually believes the Castros will do what they say. I am angry that Cuban spies who participated in the killing of American citizens get off with a mere fifteen years and return to Cuba with a heros welcome. Im worried that every oppressive regime now knows that if we capture their terrorists and/or spies, all they have to do is arrest one of our aid workers and then swap prisoners. Im amused by those who dont see the difference between our relations with Cuba and countries like China and Vietnam. Im a bit troubled by Christians who oppose the evangelization of Cuba on purely political grounds. Most of all, I am PRAYERFUL that whatever happens politically, God will cultivate an atmosphere where the gospel will continue to spread. I am REJOICING that there are approximately two million Christians and only 800,000 communists in Cuba at the present time. I am in AWE that this happened in spite of the governments efforts to stop it and I BELIEVE this is nothing less than a miracle of God. I am CERTAIN no government can stop the sovereign purposes of almighty God. Finally, I JOIN the body of Christ in saying, CUBA PARA CRISTO!
