Regardless of partisan preference, the founding principles of our form of government as prescribed by our US Constitution must be respected. The checks and balances provided by the separation of the three branches of government must be enforced. When the Executive Branch defies the legislative and the judicial branches, when a sitting president so blatantly violates his oath of office, impeachment is in order: “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
