Regional Private Sector Sensitization Workshop on EAC-EU EPA ROO & MARKET ACCESS,17-18 OCTOBER 2013 , AT GORILLA HOTEL, KIGALI RWANDA. EABC with support from International Trade Centre (ITC) is organising a regional workshop to, among others, sensitize the private sector on the EAC-EU EPA RoO & Market Access. The objective of this interactive workshop is to help the East African private sector articulate the implications of the EAC-EU EPA RoO and Market Access to EAC businesses as well as sensitized on the opportunities and challenges associated with EPA. More specifically, this includes: • Informing the EAC Private Sector of the EPA negotiations in areas of interests to the region • Get clear understanding of the proposed RoO of the two parties • Get clear understanding of the market access offers of the two parties • Facilitating a better appreciation of the state of play on EPAs negotiations and assisting in the identification of associated opportunities and challenges ahead; • Promoting enhanced involvement of the private sector in the negotiations through having clear understanding of what is contained in the EPA • Enhancing competence of the private sector through updating the negotiation trend, contribute and support the negotiations.
