Registering my daughter for her new school this morning. A new experience in a predominantly Spanish speaking school. This is the perfect time in her childhood for her to absorb the real language. They spoke both English and Spanish at orientation. She has been eager to learn the language anyway and this maybe a great opportunity to experience both the language and culture. I am a huge advocate of exposing her to different cultures because the real world (America) is not just black and white but very diverse. I wanna burst some of the stereotypes. No the school does not have inferior academics. No the crime rate is not higher. Yes the students and parents are just as eager for quality education in a safe environment as the rest of America.
