Religion and God are two things which we cannot logically defend. Christians and Muslims defend their idol worship with some funny logic and call the Hindus idol worshippers. Whoever maintains idol worship is his pleasure. Most of the Christian religions promote idol worship except some of the Evangelist groups which are not properly institutionalized religions. Idol is a symbol which generates a physical feeling of worship. Idol is used in lower levels of worship. Even great Hindu saints are not idol worshippers. They go to some secluded place and meditate which is their method of worship. That is the highest level of worship not easy for an ordinary person. Cross pictures, images used by Christians are idols. Most of the Christians and Christ himself think of Church/Synagogue as Holy Place and hence that is idol worship. Kaba, Dargas are idols used by Muslims. The traditional Hindu-oriented Christian religions in Kerala use Fire, Water, Bells, images etc for worship and they are comfortable with that. If they are comfortable with that, why somebody else should have a problem. Let one mind his own business and think that other one has a brain too, at least in matters related to personal choices.
