Religion cannot be the cause of nation building. I knew Ibn-Insha well, when I wrote one of my earliest article he invited me to Theosophical Hall on Bandar Road to size me up, it was just an coincident that I did not follow literature and went into Engineering though I tried my best to fail as an engineer. Insha Jee like mr. Bhutto in Simla refrence ignore a major historical reality, that nations are not made on ideological underpinnings; if that was the case 56 nations of OIC should have been one, even if not that the Peninsular Arabia should be united, after all Damascus and Baghdad were the capital of Umayyads and Abbasids with Mecca and Medina as the twin holy cities. To assume political unity of a nation born out of a 5,000 year old civilisation was such an erroneous assumption, as a patriot it sounds great but the reality is that a Baloch wants the full lever of their economic property to be driven by them so are other nations ready to get more devolution. Have you ever heard threat of bifurcation of Iran, or Turkey though Ottoman Empire broke after 700 years, so did Yugoslavia and USSR into its constituent nations. Empires tear apart, not nations, Hindustan have been suffering from a north -South divide yet it is a reality and has been a united region for 5,000 years, though fragmented in between by the wills of warlords and invaders. Nation building is not an overnight task, nations are born out of language, culture, food and traditions, folklore, dialects, literature that is what combines and fuse nations, their geographical unity is rooted in dividing oceans, mountains, sea and waterways. Pakistan towards North is definitely separated at Attock from Afghania but very contagious with Indian subcontinent otherwise. Nation building takes time, Indians talk as Indians as they had the brand name of thousands of years old, we copied ours out nowhere, it words didnt even make any acronymic sense, Bengal the largest constituent was not represented in the acronym, we still continue to argue why it broke, Bengal of Nazru-Islam and Tigore was culturally 100 years ahead of Lahore and 500 years ahead of Waziristan.
