Religious leaders under the Malawi Council of Churches (MCC) will from March 19 dedicate their preaching on the forth coming tripartite elections with a special focus on the prevention of political violence during the electoral process. This comes with 116 days before the May 20 polls. It follows recent reports of violence in some areas where political parties have been holding primary elections, as well as post election violence in the previous polls. Speaking to Capital FM, MCC Secretary General Osborn Joda-Mbewe says the faith community has a responsibility of teaching its members on the effects of violence during elections.
