Religious warning! Was asked last week why I label some post religious. So those who hate religion can skip reading it. I fear driving someone away, I often think of a verse about turning people away from religion as suicide for your soul. It was stressed if you pressure anyone with your beliefs and convince them against religion, all is lost for you, not them. So here is what I am thinking today. Several times I have watched people’s lives spiral out of control on Face Book, no advice can comfort them but this one is different. It might be drama but sometimes this is the only outlet a few have. Just reading about a friend who has suffered the loss of everything he owned. One step from being homeless and in a depressed state of mind. His Christian children will only help him if he gives his soul to Christ. Interesting since I have seen this many times before. Food banks that will not feed you until you confess your sins and accept Christ while you are starving. This shows a lot more about the people who can help than the people who need help. I can easily see asking for a code of conduct, no cussing or spitting on the floor but to confess your sins..... For what you do for the weakest of men, you do to me is a quote from Jesus. I see it more of a person in power not wanting to save a soul but to win a position of superiority. I could be wrong but to help when you can should not have stipulation hanging in their first. Jesus came to save us all from our sins and died for that to happen. He never ask us to do anything before all that happened, he set up no conditions we had to meet before he gave his life. He is the example to live by, a life to set as an example to live and to strive for. 1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people. All people, not just those who go to your church. There is not time line for things to happen so do not push people. John 14:13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. None of this is for you to show off, you do not have to "flash" your beliefs, God knows your heart no matter what you say. John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. But not on our timeline, we have eternity to watch this work out. God loves a cheerful giver, no mention of setting up conditions first.
