Remarkable launches specialist gameshow production arm Endemol UK is launching Remarkable Games, a new production arm that will specialise in gameshow formats for the UK and international markets. The new hub will sit within Remarkable Television. James Fox, former head of entertainment at Remarkable will step up to become creative director of Remarkable Games, reporting to Remarkable Television’s joint mds Nick Mather and Colette Foster. In his new role, Fox will be responsible for creating, developing and executive producing a new portfolio of gameshow formats as well as further building Remarkable’s existing hits in the genre including Pointless and The Million Pound Drop. Remarkable Games will also work closely with Endemol UK’s commercial and digital teams, including specialist online gaming hub Endemol Games, in the development and creation of multiplatform content around gameshow formats. Nick Mather comments; “Remarkable is responsible for some of the most popular game shows on British television and James has played an integral role in that success story. His experience, creativity and vision make him the perfect candidate to lead Remarkable Games and deliver the genre’s next generation of hits.” James Fox adds: “The launch of Remarkable Games is set to accelerate the growth of our game show output, which already engages millions of devoted fans on TV, via apps, on social media and more. I’m thrilled to be taking on this new role and continuing to work with the brilliantly creative team at Remarkable.” Fox will be joined by Dom Waugh who has most recently series produced Ejector Seat and now becomes Executive Producer for Remarkable Games. James Fox became Remarkable’s Head of Entertainment in 2012, having first joined Endemol as a Series Producer in 2010. His credits include executive producing Channel 4’sThe Million Pound Drop, BBC One’s Pointless and ITV’s Ejector Seat as well as series producing interactive game show The Bank Job (Channel 4).
