Remember... Just because you know evolution to be true... doesnt mean that you cant believe in God... But the science lover in me has to respond to this mans claim. Evolution is not only observable on a macro level through transitional fossils... but we see it happen within bacteria... its why you have to flu shot that works every year instead of just once. Be careful not to mix the common use of Theory which is a Hunch or an Idea... In science, they would call that a hypothesis (Kinda).. A Theory in science is a body of facts that cant seem to be dis-proved. You wouldnt run into a Music Theory class claiming that Music doesnt exist and its just a theory now would you? A theory cant be proven because its a ever growing body of evidence. The only theories that CAN be proven are in math and law... BTW... Evolutionary theory has been proven in a court of Law... so if you wanna get specific... there is your proof. As far as thermodynamics go. To say the 2nd law states that Chaos cannot create order is true. But what he doesnt understand is the this LAW only works in a CLOSED SYSTEM, where no energy can leave or enter... The earth IS NOT a closed system... We get energy from our sun, fueling simple organisms so they CAN become more complex and begin eating other life forms. Evolution is a fact. Why couldnt your god use evolution to create the variety of life? I would suppose that such a being can and WOULD dream of something so brilliant and clever and so ABSOLUTLY MIND BLOWINGLY BEAUTIFUL! If you dont think so, then perhaps this atheist gives more credit to your god than you do.
