Remember Roo? Shes the little Tortie who was found in the Wallnuts - TopicsExpress

Remember Roo? Shes the little Tortie who was found in the Wallnuts parking lot in July, unable to move her back legs. Roo was brought to the city shelter, Humane Services, but no owner showed up to claim her. Our friends at Humane Services ended up transferring Roo into our (Heavebly Creatures) care, as they didnt want to euthanize her for lack of the ability to provide the leg surgery she needed (the city has a vet, but doesnt have the equipment for major surgery). Thanks to YOU, our kind supporters, Roo had her leg surgery last month. Roos bas been a particularly expensive case: her vet care has thus far cost over $5000 between her visits to two vet clinics - we couldnt have begun to afford her care without the help of compassionate animal lovers in our community. Were still trying to pay off her bills. Roo has been in a foster home since being released from the hospital, and she wont likely be going anywhere else - her foster mom has fallen in love with Roos sweet self Roo’s foster mom says: Roo is doing really well. She wants to be on the move and doesnt appear to be in pain. Her appetite is good and she loves to be close and cuddle. I have a dog and another cat and theyve all been getting along well. Roo, who still has her casts on, goes in for another check-up next week, and then we will have another update for you.
