Remember how Obamas State of the Union address focused on middle class economics? To people who think the government is better at managing your life than you are, that actually means raiding your savings so politicians can both piss the money away and make the services they attempt to manage more expensive. Sometimes, with an elaborate lie or two (hi, Obamacare), politicians get away with these things. Other times, their proposals are so utterly out of line with both their rhetoric and reality, that theyre dropped fairly quickly. Today, the latter happened. (Its rare, I know). Bye-bye, Obamas middle class plan to steal from your college fund to .... what? Continue making higher education more expensive with endless subsidies that encourage out of control price increases paid by graduates attempting but largely failing to enter the middle class? To fund more giant corporations as the middle class fades out of existence? .... And the people who support even MORE government control over our decisions wring their hands about how income inequality is growing ever higher. Talk about irony.
