Remember this little cutie who was thankfully found safe? A jury has convicted a Colorado woman of kidnapping a Wisconsin newborn and abandoning him in frigid temperatures. Kristen Rose Smith, 31, of Denver, Colorado, was found guilty Thursday afternoon of a federal charge of kidnapping. Prosecutors say Smith took newborn Kayden Powell from his parents home in Town of Beloit, Wisconsin, and got as far as West Branch before abandoning him in a plastic tote in below-freezing temperatures in early February when police caught up with her. Sentencing will be held at a later date.
