Remembering my Dad today (passed away 4 yrs ago). It would have been his 96th birthday today. He was almost exactly 45 yrs. older than me . He was married at age 32, and had a farm bought when he asked my mom to marry him. Young men these days need to follow that example and be able to show their future wife how they will be responsible to take care of her and future family! Our whole huge family misses him. (He passed away right before his 40th grandchild was born. (Mason Lester Thompson was named after my dad.) He worked hard milking cows, etc. , and also sold barn equipment and silos for extra income to let us children continue to enjoy all the luxuries of farm life...T-bone steaks, liver and onions, fresh berries, gustavsons ice cream, a&w root beer, and etc. You can tell I enjoyed eating! I miss my dad! He used to get his violin out at night and play a favorite hymn (Jesus, I am resting, resting), or Norwegian piece by Greig...Solvejgs Song. I loved to lay in bed listening to him play!
