Remembering my Little Jimmy Dickens What ever you do, do not believe what the doctors tell you. I went to the doctor the other day and he told me I needed to eat more fiber. I said what!? Eat more fiber? I told the doc, Ive eaten enough fiber to weave a basket.... I went to the doctor the other day, Ive been having a hard time remembering things. The doc ask me what medicine Im taking. I said its a little capsule with blue stripes on it. The doctor said, thats not what I asked. What is the name of the medicine youre taking? I asked the doc, what is that red flower with a long stem and has green leaves on it? the doctor said, a rose? (Yelling) Rose, what is the name of the medicine I take? I am not well...I went to the doctor the other day. He gave me some of them little blue pills that they give men my age. I tell you what, you best be careful, if you dont swallow them fast, you will get a stiff neck! My wife said to me, honey lets run upstairs and make love. I told her to pick one, I can not do both... Awh, the great laughs, the great songs, the great memories. He was my friend, my little boyfriend and he is forever my entertaining hero. He was the ultimate entertainer. At the age of 94, December 20, 2014 he gave his last performance at the Grand Ole Opry on the Ryman Auditorium stage. December 20, I visited with him in his dressing room before he took the stage. We took a photo. I told him I loved him. He kissed me on the cheek and said he loved me too. He was feeling great that night and his performance wasnt just good... it was great! He was at his best! I will forever admire his passion, dedication and stamina to give his best show every time. My heart is broken...but I know where he is. Rest in Peace my sweet Tater. Please keep Ms. Mona and family in your thoughts and prayers.
