He joined the army at the start of ww11.At the age of 15.He was in Germany and D day.He finished his embark leave straight after the war was over and was promptly sent out to Egypt/Palestine for the remainder of the conflict. Later in 1959 we were sent as a family to Berlin and later living as a family in Berlin we witnessed the fall of the Brandenburg gate.....Later on we were posted to Penang in Malaysia in 1964.The battalion was deployed in Borneo for a few months at a time to stop the threat of invasion there from Indonesia. He carried out his army career in the K.R.R.C and The Royal Green Jackets.Which have now been rebadged as The Rifles....God bless em!!!
