Remembering my good friend Maynard Spence today who was killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11. We had just had breakfast and a meeting at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Douglasville, GA the previous Thursday morning. We needed to have another meeting.....I mentioned to Maynard that I had to go to Jacksonville, FL the next week and he said he had a meeting in New York that week...so we agreed to meet again in two weeks. Little did any of us know what would occur the following Tuesday. Maynard was in a meeting on the 99th floor of the first WTC tower that was hit......they took a direct hit. His body was never found and his company lost their entire construction insurance group. His wife refused to accept the fact that he would not be found alive until the company took her to ground zero and she saw it with her own eyes..then decided to hold his memorial service. Maynard was a great guy who instantly made everyone he met feel like his best friend. Still miss him today.
