#Rememberthe14 - Wow there are so many relevant take aways from Francine Pelletier. 25 years ago there wasnt a line you could draw between women being gunned down in a university campus and the kind of violence that most women are subjected to. But today, thanks to amongst other things, the Jian Gomeshi affair, thanks to the fact that women get death threats because theyre involved in video games, thanks to young stars getting involved with feminism, Emma Watson in the United Nations, Beyonce, theres a bunch of things that have forced people to connect the dots, and say that yes women are subjected to violence, in a much more banal way than the Montreal Mascre, but its a much more wide spread way and in fact that is the real problem.
