Reminder: Breast Cancer Start-up Challenge Information Session tonight! When: 4:45pm - 5:45pm Where: Room 203 at Inner Harbor Carey Business School Campus (Legg Mason Building) Who: ANY JHU student (Undergraduate, Business, Medicine, Public Health, CBID, Engineering, etc. All are welcome!!) Speakers: Rosemarie Truman, CEO and Founder of the Center for Advancing Innovation and TEDCO Seed Funder This is an absolutely incredible opportunity that isnt just another business plan competition or start-up competition. Winners will actually be creating the start-up utilizing the technology transferred from NIH or the Avon Foundation grantee! Additionally, winners will be featured in a WSJ exclusive! Sign up for interested individuals will occur after the info session in the business school 2nd floor lobby. Teams should possess multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of business, law, medicine, and entrepreneurship, as well as engineering and/or computer engineering for certain innovations. We are happy to facilitate formation of teams of interested individuals. The Avon Foundation, the National Cancer Institute and Center for Advancing Innovation have partnered to create a first of a kind Breast Cancer Start-up Challenge. The Challenge features Breast Cancer Inventions (9 from the National Institutes of Health National Cancer Institute and 1 from an Avon Foundation grantee) that have commercial viability and are important to public health. The primary goal of the Challenge is to stimulate the creation of start-up businesses based upon these inventions.
